This busy mom of two admits that it wasn’t easy to get started. Once Tracie decided to start a fitness program and she had some struggles to overcome. She told us, “I had gotten lazy and my energy level wasn’t great. [I struggled] finding the time and motivation to get back into working out, holding myself accountable to actually doing the workouts, being too self-conscious to join an actual gym and not knowing what gym to join, knowing I would need someone to guide me and show me how and what exercises to do but didn’t want to feel awkward and embarrassed (I am an adult for goodness sake!), and of course worrying if I could afford something like that.”
She knew both her children would be starting school and that this was the time to commit to herself. Working 12 hours shifts left her time while her children were in school. Tracie chose to re-invest in herself. After sitting down with Trainer James, making a plan that still allowed her plenty of family time, and getting started, she knew she’d made the best choice.
She started using the gym’s app to sign up for classes that fit her schedule. She began using Spark and Catalyst, and changed her eating habits. “I am WAY more aware of the type of foods I am putting in my body. I keep a close eye on the amounts of protein and sugar in things. And try to get a least a 100 ounces of water a day.”
Busy Mom Gets Big Results
It didn’t take long for her to see results. After 7 months at Complete Fitness, Tracie dropped 21 pounds of fat, cut her body fat down to 13.3%, and gained over 20 pounds of muscle!
“I have gained more muscle than I expected up to this point and cut way down on my body fat percentage; which when I first started I had no idea was so high!”
Trainer James has worked with Tracie on her nutrition and fitness goals. He’s not shy about her accomplishments. “Traci is the definition of showing dedication not only inside the gym, but outside of it as well. During her workouts, she always treats every rep of every set like it’s her most important one. She takes her time, and never cheats herself, and it has clearly paid off,” he said. “Although she has a busy life outside of the gym, she keeps her diet very clean and always prepares ahead of time. Tracie’s said her lifestyle change has definitely given her an edge during volleyball every week. Her competitive nature and great attitude have mixed for some amazing results!”
