How They Got Started
When Ashley and John moved to South Dakota from Utah this year, they lost their main fitness motivators. “Moving away from our supportive workout friends that we biked with and hit the gym with 4-5 days a week slowed us down.” Besides moving so far away from an active lifestyle, they found they weren’t happy about their new habits. “We both spend all day in front of computers at work and we were both very inactive video gamers who didn’t leave the house much. We were eating relatively okay but we weren’t building good fitness habits.”
Getting Started
After stepping on the scale, they both decided it was time for a change. In only five months at Complete Fitness, Ashley and John are proud to report some new, positive habits. “I can’t get through my morning without [Spark] now and I am 100% off soda and coffee, ” Ashley told us. John likes Spark, MNS and (this was a surprise, even to him) cauliflower.
Fit Couple, By The Numbers
John has lost 30 pounds and Ashley is down 15 pounds. This fit couple has lost a total of 28 inches together and they’ve each dropped 6% body fat! More than the numbers, John and Ashley say they’re feeling stronger and more confident. “I used to break out in a sweat after playing with our nieces and nephews for more than 5 minutes. Now I can do jumping squats with them on my back, ” John explained.
Ashley’s advice for someone looking to get started? “Stop thinking about it and just give it a whirl. You can’t improve yourself if you never even try.”
