Hi, I’m Nichelle Lund and I am new to South Dakota and work in the Hotel Industry.
Q. How did you get started at Complete Fitness?
I saw a post on Facebook and thought to myself, I’m almost 30 and not getting any younger so I should probably do something about my health. I decided to go in and have conversation to see if it was going to be a good fit for me.
Q. What was the first impression like when you stepped foot inside Complete Fitness?
What I was most impressed with was that you guys screened me. You wanted to make sure I was a serious candidate. I met with a coach and we sat down and went over my goals and again I was asked how serious I was about reaching them. That was important to me because I was serious and I had “been serious” before but never to this level so this let me know that I was where I needed to be. I knew they were going to take my health and my fitness just as seriously as I would.
Q. What type of results have you achieved in the 8 months that you have been with us?
I have lost right about 35 pounds of fat and gained about 10 pounds of muscle on top of almost 4 dress sizes. Overall I am happier looking at myself and I have a lot more confidence which is what I wanted. That was more important than the number on the scale.
I just wanted to feel good about myself for the first time in a long time.
Q. What’s different about Complete Fitness vs some of the other programs you have tried in the past?
I’ve gone through different boot camps and different gyms but one of the biggest differences was that I didn’t feel invisible at Complete Fitness. My first day I didn’t know anybody but everyone knew my name. That showed me that you guys care about me and I was like, this is it, this is my new family!
Q. If you were talking to someone else how would you explain Complete Fitness?
We do things together and do challenges together. We push each other inside of the workouts and even outside of the workouts. I’ve gotten messages from the coaches that were like, hey you missed class this morning. So they hold you accountable but it’s never in a demeaning way…that’s really important.
Q. If you were talking to yourself 8 months ago before you came in or to the person that’s skeptical who is wondering if this is for real or is this just another thing I am going to try and fail at, what would you say to them?
I’d say that there is always a chance for failure. That’s life. If you don’t just try and even put in 10% effort, if you don’t do that you will always wonder what if…and you don’t want to be that person.
Final Thoughts: It’s been amazing to see Nichelle’s transformation. Not only physically but the confidence and the smile on your face. To see you lead others in the gym and pay it forward is what its’ all about.
