Ready for a small but powerful movement to strengthen and tighten your abs? Trainer Jane recommends the weighted crunch, and walks you through exactly how to get the most bang for your buck with this month’s move.
Start with the plate resting on your sternum (high chest), feet wide & at about a 90 degree angle. Keep hips down & shoulder down, which rounds your back to the ball & stretches your abs.
As you crunch up, look up at the ceiling, exhale & squeeze your abs as hard as possible – keeping the plate resting ON you – no lifting it off! Also pull your hips UP with your low abs – this will ROCK your abs!This is a small but powerful movement if done RIGHT! Abs are like any other muscle, if you want to really build them stronger & tighter – you must use weights. However, most people do not THINK about how they use their abs in the move & therefore do not work them effectively, nor do the BREATHE right to make them work as hard as possible! SO, BREATH! 🙂 It literally helps you build stronger abs!
